No, this week's Lehto's Law is not XX-rated. This just means I have made it to 20 episodes and this week's topic is Laws We Need Now . Rather than discussing current laws, I explain five laws which really ought to be passed to make this world a better place.
I often talk about consumer law and try to explain how it applies to everyday life but I don't normally talk about how things ought to be. That's usually left to the dreamers, the theoreticians, and the rich people who can afford to pay politicians to pass pet laws which enrich the rich even richer.

Meaningful laws in this field do not get passed often and when they do, they are often watered down to the point of ineffectiveness. Still, good laws do sometimes get passed. I have even testified in Lansing to get laws changed on two different occasions so I know a little bit about how this process works. But these fixes are so simple they ought to be no-brainers, as they say. Give the podcast a listen and see if you don't agree.
And, the pic at the top? That's George Barris and me, at a car show a couple years back. For the few who don't know. George is a custom car builder who made many of the cars that appeared on TV when we were kids. Like the original Batmobile.
And check out the cool book he is holding. Something about Chrysler's Turbine Car written by some guy with a podcast.

This website may supply general information about the law but it is for informational purposes only. This does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not meant to constitute legal advice, so the good news is we're not billing you by the hour for reading this. The bad news is that you shouldn't act upon any of the information without consulting a qualified professional attorney who will, probably, bill you by the hour.

Is XX the minor leagues of porn? They work hard for a shot at XXX, the big leagues. Or would it be closer to AA to AAA then to actual acting?

It's the minor leagues.
I won't tell you where the bat goes.

One day, I am going to run on a platform of just Common Sense. Somehow figure out a way to have contributers to my campaign while also not being influenced by lobbyist. It seems like an impossible task

The ability to sell cars off lot is probably to allow dealers to do sales at car shows.

And sometimes they do things at fairs and so on. The rule makes sense on that level - where it falls apart is when they sell cars off lot and pretend they are just selling a car for "a friend."

That part of it is pretty shady, and to be honest I was listening while doing other things so my listening comprehension wasn't at its peak. It just popped into my head because one of the local dealers does a car show in the mall here and they've been advertising it lately.

I hadn't mentioned the nuances of it in the podcast. (So, you didn't miss anything!)
I was just blasting through the list. This would be easy enough to resolve - just have them get an acknowledgement from the buyer that they knew they were buying from a dealer when they bought the car somewhere else.

Nope. Nope. I got it. His other show is the one where he extols the virtues of Dos Equis:

Haven't listened yet, and while I can agree, most Laws are BS laws passed to disguise as helpful to society when in reality they're only made to help or enrich the well connected. With that said, I will respectfully disagree.
We need LESS laws, not more. Laws don't create freedom, they only strip it away and the more we empower ourselves to vote with our $$$$ and make bad business practices public knowledge, the more the consumer is protected and the sh*tbag retailer exposed.
Furthermore, I'd venture to say the problems don't end there. We have a corrupt "Just-Us" system which would still fail us even if, we only had "sensible" laws in place, because frankly... careers are made and destroyed through favors and vice versa.
Don't believe me, ask yourself why that Judge wasn't imprisoned for Grand Larceny for driving a defendants car, when the defendant would be behind bars if he did such a thing to the Judge's car.

Wasn't that judge in Brazil?
I agree that not all laws are necessary but we do need them. The key is to get good ones and not ones drafted by lobbyists (which is what most of them are today).

Yes, he was.
As for necessary laws, we have/had them. We always had/have laws that protect private property and freedom. Really, that's all we needed. Of course though, like a parasite, Govt (i.e. psychopaths who feel a desire to tell others what they can or cannot do have a monopoly on the use of violence to assure everyone else complies, or else...) will only grow for self serving needs until it kills its host.
Historically speaking, there isn't a single example of one that hasn't suffered the same fate and yet, we still think it's the solution.
I don't disagree with you though, we know what would be better but the system is set up to not allow for that to happen, instead we have the advance auction sale of stolen goods.
